Inventory Specialist

Your tasks and responsibilities

Scope of the Role

The Inventory Specialist is a role within the Regional Supply Team and working in close connection with the Supply Coordinator/Regional Supply Manager, Market Specialist and Control Tower Specialist.

Main purpose of the Job

The Inventory Specialist is responsible to ensure that final packed product is available for sales on time, with the correct quantity, quality and product form, in the right location, according to replenishment strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales forecast as reviewed and confirmed by Demand Planning in terms of variety, quantity, product form and quality, in accordance with the company product quality specification to determine seed supply

  • Responsible for proactive planning the preparation of seed material following the forecast and in close coordination & in connection with operations plant:

  • Make seed available for Sales according to the forecast requirements

  • Prioritize supply based on demand

  • Potential blending to minimize the number of batches in the inventory

  • Reworking and upgrading of current inventory to meet product/market specifications and initiate QA tests according to product specifications if appropriate

  • In collaboration with the Market Specialist responsible for the replenishment of finished goods for ‘Make-to-Stock’-markets based on the market requirement’s master file and the replenishment strategy

  • Contributes to the IBP process (Supply Review for mid-term & Control Tower Demand-Supply Alignment) by reviewing demand, investigate potential shortages, initiate corrective actions and share results

  • Support Make-to-Order markets by supplying visibility to Customer Service and Control Tower Specialist as well as for non-forecasted orders for Make-to-Stock markets.

  • Owner and accountable for (semi-) finished goods inventory in the region and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for inventory maintenance & visibility:

  • Reviews inventory regularly and classify it in accordance with company guidelines and procedures. Check new finalized quality test regularly and take appropriate action

  • Ensure all batches have a usability decision before 12 months from harvest

  • Inventory maintenance for EMEA sellable (marketable) stock.

  • Secure dispositions for sales of substandard quality are available and documented in the system

Who you are

Required Qualifications


  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and computer skills 

  • Preffered, but not required: Knowledge about SAP

  • Fluency in English, other languages are desirable

  • Bachelor or Master in Inventory Management / Supply Chain / Logistics studies / Agricultural
